CARMA Youth Programs

CARMA Youth Programs is a core value of the Cairns and Region Multicultural Association Inc.

We believe in focus and youth engagement and empowerment. For the last 20 years our youth performed at all the Cairns Multicultural Festival, Cairns Festival parade and the CARMA Youth Peace Finale.

Youth from all community groups in Cairns come together at the CARMA Youth festival to showcase their talents through music, art and crafts, poetry and dancing. It has been successful for many years. We work in partnership with Cairns Regional Council, Centacare, Salvation Army, church groups and community groups to get good results of the events.

Last year we established the community radio Youth Program at FM89.1. It is really going very well – it’s space for our youth to learn about media and communication.
